Forget the Battle Hymn of the Republic...first time I remember hearing this song, I watched my Dad try not to cry. He was one of these guys. His paratrooper days are some his proudest (just watch him when he talks about jumping). He almost got killed on his last jump...

HOOAH! Paratroopers are the awesomest dudes--ever. (I'm much to chicken to ever jump out of a perfectly sound airplane.)

Oh Wow! Did this bring back some memories. Any wife that has sat at home waiting for a paratrooper to come home....knows the truth of this song. This song is part of being a paratrooper (or family of one) because the truth of the song is real. Like many things in our past, we make humor out of it in order to accept the reality of the truth. It seems so long ago but this song will always bring tears to my eyes. And of course, makes me proud of the brave men and women that are paratroopers!! Thanks for sharing this.
