Hello and Au Revoir

This day has been busy...we were in the process, more or less, of getting ready for a road trip. Tomorrow we are headed Missouri for a conference and fellowship with friends!! ("Ahem...and let's not forget the dance Monday evening, Racheal." Of course not!!)

Speaking of which, I discovered this morning that I can wear my "Little Bo Peep" dress again! (A fancy pink dress.) It's nice to lose a little weight... I plan on wearing that if we can get the back filled in without too much hassle in the morning. If not, I'll just wear my sailor suit like I was planning on and no big deal. (When I wore the dress before I had an insert I put in the back with lace on it; but I don't know where it is. But then again...I just might... *makes mental note to check when she goes upstairs*)

Anyway, other than some cleaning up, packing of clothes and shoes (sort of; they aren't in the car yet), I mowed the yard today. I tell you what, it feels good to be outside with a hunk of machinery roaring underneath one, with a nice breeze that isn't cold blowing over you. I had to tie my hat on (you know, that blue "golf" cap I've been wearing a lot lately) because it is a size 7 3/4 (or something like that) and I generally wear a 6 7/8. I'm sure I looked a little dorky with that blue bandanna with white stars folded and tied maybe neatly over the rear-most portion of my hat clashing with my purple and blue plaid western work shirt. (I think it is actually a guy's shirt since it snaps up "backwards"...but the colors... :D)

When I got done and took my earplugs out, the wind in the trees sounded rather odd...almost echo-y.

I came in and rinsed my hair out (I washed it this morning...I always seem to wash my hair before I do something like mow the grass!) and got a snack. It was around this time that I hauled my suitcase down and packed it. Once I got done with that, I vacuumed the dining room, kitchen, and the upstairs. Believe me, it was so nice to see the cat-hair coming up off my floor!! After using a vacuum that doesn't really work for months, the borrowing of Grandma's (un-blocked up this time, unlike the last time I borrowed it) is really very delightful. I forgot the carpet wasn't actually faded that much....

As usual, I took Runty and put her in Savannah's room while vacuuming. She hates the vacuum. Curio on the other hand can't hear it well enough to be scared and therefore lives up to her name. She loves to get right in the middle of whatever I am doing.

I really should get myself off to bed now...

      Racheal

P.S. Don't expect to see me around until probably Friday!!

    The Middle Kid

I chose to title this blog "The Adventures of a Middle Kid" because that is exactly what I'll be detailing (mostly). I chose 'kid' over any other word, like 'girl' (I am the middle girl so it also would have worked) or 'child'
(since I am no longer exactly a child).

    I am a middle kid and I will always be a middle kid--even when I'm 80!
